Metro Station is an electronic pop/rock band from Hollywood, California signed to Columbia/Red Ink Records. The band consists of four members, Trace Cyrus (vocals, guitar), Blake Healy (keyboards, synthesizer), Mason Musso (vocals, guitar) and Anthony Improgo (percussion).
Metro Station was started by Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso in 2006 after their mothers introduced them to each other on the set of the TV series Hannah Montana in which their younger siblings Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso perform.
In the July 2007 issue of Alternative Press, an indie music magazine, Metro Station was listed as one of the "22 Best Underground Bands (That Likely Won't Stay Underground for Long)".
The band released their first full length album on September 18, 2007, along with releasing the singles "Kelsey" and "Control" produced by Joshua Cain and Justin Pierre of the power pop band Motion City Soundtrack.
The single "Shake It" appeared as the free "Single of the Week" in Apple's iTunes Store on October 16, 2007.
Metro Station opened for the band Cobra Starship, along with We the Kings and The Cab on Cobra Starship's 2007-08 USA tour, "The Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking Tour." They also opened for Panic at the Disco for their European tour in March 2008.
