Manchester Orchestra is an indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They are currently signed to Favorite Gentlemen Recordings.

Manchester Orchestra’s beginnings life in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia where during Hull’s junior year in high school, his talent as a songwriter was garnering the attention of fans and industry types alike. Singer/guitarist/songwriter Andy Hull opted to be home schooled his senior year of high school, so he could focus on writing and recording an album.

On June 28, 2007 Manchester Orchestra announced via myspace bulletin, "we are very excited to announce some very awesome news... there have been some rumors floating around about the fact that we have "signed" a record deal. we have waited until it was official to announce anything but we are very happy to say that our label "Favorite Gentlemen Recordings" has partnered with SONY label "Canvasback" in order to release our record into more stores. "I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child" will be put through RED distribution and was released on July 24th, 2007".
